Syone has been continuously investing in its Data Solutions offer, training internal teams and hiring excellent professionals to successfully support this important business line.

Today, 2 years later, we are involved in several projects, national and internationally, related to Data Science & Engineering that directly impact our customers' business and its objectives, such as reaching the moment of zero waste with one of our European customers in the Food & Beverage area through predictive analytics applied to stock management, among other challenging and purposeful projects.

Technologically, we support this line with various solutions, maintaining a strong footprint with ElasticSearch, as we are one of its main partners in Portugal.

We are currently looking to reinforce our know-how in this area, hiring great people for a great project with a major Portuguese player in which we intend to work the bridge between Data and Business, analyzing needs and contributing to solutions, in a position of enormous visibility and importance.

Your main responsabilities: 

• Develop a strong understanding of business requirements by engaging with data and business users, helping them translate complex and unstructured needs into clear, practical data designs and fit for purpose solutions – data models, reports and dashboards or other data products support the team and the projects;
• Execute data profiling to assess overall quality and compliance with the business needs and definitions, identifying possible cleansing or data quality improvement needs;
• Engage with data functional roles according to the data domains needed for each project, to support data source analysis tasks, data definitions and business rules inventory;
  
• Engage with data technical roles  from the various source systems to ensure technical metadata, data lineage of data tables and attributes, and suggest quality improvements to be implemented in the source;
• Engage with other Data Office functions to drive and to share practical field experience which allows a continuous improvement environment;
• Be in the front line in our data initiatives, promoting with different stakeholders our data strategy and data governance principles.

What do I need to bring:

• Master of science in a quantitative field (information technology, information management, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent);
• Have 2+ years of relevant experience in data programs, focused on implementing business intelligence solutions, data warehouses, data modeling, data management, data quality or supporting Master Data Management implementation activities in large complex organizations;
• Previous experience in managing and delivering end-to-end data projects, from business requirements definition to design and implement fit for purpose data models (including data lineage of source systems and data quality criteria / checkpoints);
• Experience in the definition and technical implementation of data cleansing rules and data quality initiatives.

What will be valued:

• Hands-on experience in business and data understanding activities, with good knowledge of data modelling, data cataloguing and data lineage;
• Good data manipulation skills using data management and business intelligence tools (e.g. to support data modeling and data quality activities);
• Good knowledge of data quality principles, rules and KQI definition;
• Strong technological practices will be a plus;
• Ability to explain complex data issues in nontechnical terms;
• Good business acumen and confidence in working with senior stakeholders with exceptional customer focus.
