Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer for challenging project. This role is essential for developing and enhancing our data infrastructure to ensure seamless integration and efficient handling of large-scale datasets. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in data modeling, particularly in retail settings, and excellent analytical abilities. 

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines.
• Implement and manage data models using extensive JSON structures to describe retail entities.
• Optimise data processing workflows and manage data integration tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet their data requirements.
• Ensure data quality and integrity within our infrastructure.
• Leverage GCP, BigQuery, Python, SQL, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and IaC tools to streamline data processes.
• Take initiative in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
• Continuously improve data engineering practises and stay updated with the latest industry trends.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data engineers.

What you will need to bring:

• Experience as a Senior Data Engineer or in a similar role;
• Expertise in GCP and BigQuery;
• Proficiency in Python and SQL;
• Experience with Spark and Kubernete;
• Strong knowledge of IaC principles and tools such as Docker and Terraform;
  Demonstrated ability in data modelling, particularly with JSON structures.
